Itinerary

 

Day 1Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Return to Cusco

We will start early with hotel pickup in Cusco. We will travel 72 km  to Ollantaytambo train station. We will enjoy scenic views of the Sacred Valley during the drive. The journey will prepare us for an exciting day at Machu Picchu.

From Ollantaytambo, we will board a panoramic train to Aguas Calientes, covering approximately 65 km. We will admire rivers, mountains, and traditional villages along the 1.5–2 hour ride. Upon arrival, we will take a short bus ride up to Machu Picchu. Our guide will explain the citadel’s history and significance.

We will explore Machu Picchu in depth, visiting the Intihuatana stone, Temple of the Sun, and Main Plaza. We will walk through ancient terraces and observe the architectural genius of the Incas. We will have free time to photograph and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The tour will combine cultural knowledge, history, and breathtaking scenery.

After the visit, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch at a local restaurant. We will board the return train to Ollantaytambo and then take a vehicle back to Cusco.
